There are almost too many hotels in Las Vegas to choose from. It can seem overwhelming at first, with such a variety of prices, hotel ratings and locations. For most vistiors, the first thing to consider when selecting a hotel is how you plan to get around. If you will be driving, or are planning to use taxis then you can consider some of the hotels off-strip. These often have lower rates, and a more relaxed atmosphere. For those that plan to get around by foot or using the monorails, or shuttles, the hotels in the heart of the strip are usually preferred.

The prices of hotel rooms in Las Vegas may have huge variations from one day to the next. In general weekend room rates are higher than weekdays. Prices will also go up when there are major sporting events or shows in town. If you can be flexible in your travel arrangements, check the room rates for a few days earlier or later, you could save yourself a lot of money by booking on certain days.

There are often promotions offered by many of the Las Vegas Strip hotels. Many of these won't show up on the travel reservation sites, so it's a good idea to go directly to the hotel's web site to check for special offers. Joining some of the players clubs can also give you access to special rate offers.
