Whether you are looking for a budget, luxury or boutique hotel, Los Angeles has exactly what you are looking for. With more hotels than you can imagine, at first it might seem a little overwhelming to try and choose just the right hotel for you, so it is helpful to consider a few key things before making your final choice.

First, you may want to consider how you will be traveling within Los Angeles. If you are using public transportation you might want to be right in the heart of the city. Los Angeles has the second largest public transportation agency in the U.S. With 200 bus lines and 4 Metro Rail lines you can get almost everywhere within LA county. However, if you are renting a car that leaves you the option of staying in the outskirts and choosing your own schedule for sightseeing.

Second, you may want to consider how you will be spending most of your time in Los Angeles. Are you there for buisness or pleasure? Do you want to be on the beach? Then you will want a hotel in Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, South Bay, Long Beach or Catalina. Is it's shopping that you love? Then you might want to stay in Beverly Hills or West LA. Or perhaps it's the theme parks you are most interested in? Then you might want to be as close as possible to maximize your time there and be able to get there just as it opens.

Another thing to consider is who you are traveling with. If you are traveling with children then you should have a look at all that LA has to offer them too. There are lots of kid frienldly activities, there are parks, theatres, markets, aquariums, theme parks, museums and don't forget LA zoo. There is something for all ages but most kids want to know "Are we there yet?" so you may want to choose a hotel close to their favorite destination.
